i'm proud to be NOTHING

March 16, 2012 - It's already 2:55am but I just can't sleep. Maybe, i'm too preoccupied with what's-next-in-my-life thoughts. I'm exchanging SMS with Janz who's having her night duty re: next places to visit. I told myself to go to bed at 3am so before fixing my things (laptop, papersssss, pen), i reached for my Bible to read even just a verse. My habit is to just open my Bible randomly and read whatever underlined verse I see. and so, hooooopppppzzzz:

Jeremiah 1:5 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you....'

Amen! He is indeed my Maker!

In the Bible, God was telling that line to Jeremiah re:his calling, but this message is also spoken to us, especially during this time of confusion when we sometimes don't know where to stand, why we're living in this mad world...

Isn't it amazing that we were NOTHING (as in .......) yet we're in God's universal plan?! This makes me realize:

a. Sometimes, i tend to think I've no worth anymore. i don't think of ending my life though but i do ask God to take it. After such 'emo' moments, i came to realize i have soooooo many awaiting things to accomplish. It is indeed when we feel we're nothing, casting our glories into the dust, that God can use/mold us. Logic: If He had made us beautiful1 out of nothing (or from dirty mud/dust), then He has something great for us when we feel we're nothing/unworthy.

b. "BEFORE my dad met my mom, GOD KNEW ME!" That means I'm important! I'm special! For why should a great big GOD think of a NONE-me if i'm not? This makes sense: I am living for a reason. He has something for me! i have a calling to do!

c. BEFORE i was even formed, GOD KNEW ME! He knows i'll be breaking His heart but He still gave me the privilege to live. This is how He loves me! He patiently waits for me with open arms to go to Him, and turn away from worldly things.

Friends, GOD KNOWS YOU - every thing of you! He knows your ups and downs. He's with you! If you just realize how much He loves and cares for you... Let's heed His voice! Let's go bakc to our Master Maker, Who knows our name among billions of people!

If only we meant what we sing in church:
All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him, I freely give....

Suddenly i found myself doodling with my reflection. and i ended writing at 3:49am. i may be blur here but i thank God for opening my eyes to this amazing fact.^^ To God be the glory!

1- Psalm 139 "...fearfully and wonderfully made..."
Genesis 1:26 "...created in God's image..."

Janz & i: Botanical Garden, SG

So, here. I'm going to start writing re:Janice and May's jalan jalan mode. Since we resolved to tour the interesting (if possible, free) places of Singapore, I always express my desire of writing about our 'trips'. I miss writing. I've been trying to write but it always ends up in my mind then whooosh...to the forgotten bin. Anyway, now that i have someone to help me, (ahem, FYI, Janz was our photojournalist during our final high school year^^) i might as well start or else i'd be pressed (of which i miss also -- ma'am Charyl! hehe). Okie dokie, i'll start from the beginning, heha...

August 28, 2011 - Amen. We ended our Bible study on the book of Galatians led by Mr. Peter Gregory. i rushed to the lift as i was so excited to meet one of my best friends whom i met in high school. Janice just arrived in SG just some few days and i arranged to meet her before she starts working at her designated nursing home. I had a hard time getting my way amidst sea of faces in ION mall as it's Sunday (shopping day?).

Gee, i'm sorry, i'm late with our appointment; i walked from ION to Botanical Garden.^^ I was actually shocked when i saw her because she has grown horizontally (^^ peace, friend). She was with her mom Violeta and aunt. We had lots of stories so they let us roam around the place while they rested under the trees.

The following pictures will tell you more about our short garden trip:
